Passenger fare in roadways buses has been increased by 25 paise per kilometer, due to which the pockets of the passengers will be loose. Rs 112 for Meerut to Lucknow, Rs 22 for Delhi, Rs 19 for Bulandshahr, Kaushambi (Ghaziabad) and Rs 14 each for Muzaffarnagar district will have to be paid in addition to the current fare. Similarly, the rent of other places will increase.

Earlier this month, a proposal was made by the Transport Corporation to increase the fare of ordinary buses. Officials of the Roadways Department say that increasing the fare will greatly benefit the roadways. Diesel and spare parts prices have been increasing for the past several years, but the fares were not increased. Due to the increase in fare, roadways will get profit of crores of rupees per month. At present Meerut region earns about one crore per day from five depots. With the increase of 25 paise per kilometer, there will be an increase in income of lakhs of rupees per day. At the same time, the proposal related to permit for buses on Purvanchal Expressway and Agra Noida Expressway has been postponed for the time being.

Rent will increase for the 5th time in 10 years

The fare will increase for the 5th time in the last 10 years. In the year 2012, there was an increase of 4 paise per kilometer. In 2013 again increased by 4 paise. In 2017, it was increased by 9 paise per kilometer. In 2020, 10 paise per kilometer was increased. Now after three years, the maximum rate has been increased by 25 paise per kilometer.

Meat samples taken back from Haji Yakub’s factory on police’s demand

Meat samples were taken for re-examination from the meat factory of Haji Yakub Qureshi. Let us tell you that on March 31, Kharkhoda police and all concerned departments raided on information about illegal operation of Haji Yakub’s meat factory located in village Allipur on Hapur Meerut road. In which the factory was found operating on the spot. Where the police had filed a report against 17 people including Haji Yakub Qureshi, his wife Sanjeeda Begum son Imran in several serious sections including illegal meat operations.

Later, the police also detained Haji Yakub, his two sons and seven people including his wife under the gangster. In this case, the police had already sent Haji, both his sons to jail in many cases including gangster. Meat was found impure in the meat samples taken during the raid, on which the meat samples were taken again by Hajiya’s side on the orders of the court. The meat was later found to be correct. Now the police had filed a petition in the court demanding re-examination of the meat samples. On Tuesday, Kharkhoda and Kithore police station under the leadership of CO Kithore took samples of meat along with the food safety team.

In Parikshitgarh, Meerut, a home guard along with three of his companions killed a young man in Putthi village of Parikshitgarh police station area over an old enmity. The accused escaped while firing on the grandfather and relatives of the deceased.

Mahaveer, a resident of Putthi village, told that there was a wedding ceremony in his village, in which one of his relatives, Pramod, had also attended. Both were returning from the wedding ceremony. He saw that his grandson Rupak was held by home guards Deepak, Monty, Abhishek, Anuj and were abusing and beating him. As soon as he reached to save Rupak, Deepak shot and killed the young man. When he ran to catch the accused, Deepak also fired at him. However, he narrowly escaped. On getting information about the murder, the police reached the spot, sent the dead body for postmortem and inquired about the incident. Police have arrested two people including home guard Deepak on the basis of Tahrir. Whereas, two accused are still absconding.
